About Our Shop

Hi, I'm Katie!  This shop started back in 2010 as a creative outlet and a way to raise money for kids with cancer.  I have two sisters (and 3 brothers that are also awesome), and our middle names combined make “AshLeigh Lou”.  My oldest sister was diagnosed with cancer at age 13 and was only sick for a few months.  She was always super creative...winning all sorts of art contests, and even making origami and painting while in the hospital.  When I’m creative, I feel like it’s part of her with me.  We loved to take care of our little sister and would change her clothes hourly - all the little outfits were just too cute!  I remember the vibrant colors and fun patterns so fondly.  

Fun, bright fabrics, clothes, paintings, etc. can just put a smile on your face- even in the midst of struggle. That’s what we hope to do here. Put a smile on your face, and encourage you to spread your light just as my big sister did.  Life is short, let’s have fun! 

I have an incredibly supportive husband who actually encourages my crazy ideas.  We have 5 kids ranging from 2 to 12.  Our oldest, Ella, has been a huge light for this shop, and sews and makes products with me.  We live in Friendswood, Texas and always have a project going on!  Follow along on Instagram @ashleighlouhome and @theashleighloushop

From April to August of 2021 we donated 100% of the proceeds to The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, to benefit my little sisters (she's the Lou) fundraiser for the Boston Marathon. She ran in 2021 with The Hole In The Wall Gang Camp - a camp for kids with cancer.  This camp is so dear to our family because our sister spent some of her last days having a blast there. 

Our shop currently donates 15% to The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, and donates 100% to the camp during fashion shows.
